Little Norway Resort’s Stay Safe Initiative
UPDATED Aug 31, 2021

We are continuing limited contact procedures resort-wide for the 2021 season. These procedures are structured to keep you, your family, and our staff safe.  This initiative will help you create memories at the lake while keeping safety in mind.  We will update our procedures and information as changes occur. We stay informed daily with news from the Governor, health officials, and industry groups to ensure we are aware of and follow any new guidelines.

  • We have always maintained a high standard of cleanliness at the resort, but are taking extra precautions this summer in accordance with CDC and MDH guidelines and recommendations.  Each cabin will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized before your arrival.   We will be paying special consideration to high touchpoint areas such as door knobs, light switches, hangers, counter tops, and more.
  • *We request that you please bring your own pillow and comforter and/or blanket. We will be making all beds with only sheets (Fitted sheet and flat sheet) and removing bedspreads, pillows, and extra blankets.  We appreciate your help on this request to make the logistics of our Saturdays easier as we take extra precaution.  We will have the additional bedding items if you forget or can’t travel with them. If possible, please let us know in advance.

*We are planning on lodge/front desk check-in this summer. If you prefer car-side check-in please call our main number when you arrive (218-732-5480). Either way, we will provide you with your sanitized keys, sign-in sheet, and request a credit card on file for payment. The lodge front desk will be open for any questions or convenience store purchases. Please continue to stay 6 feet away from other guests – this may mean waiting outside the lodge for someone to exit.  We will require face masks for everyone in the lodge.

*This summer we are again asking our guests to consider check-out on Friday evening by 4pm (THIS IS NOT REQUIRED) - applicable June 4 to Aug 27, 2021.  This will allow us more time to clean, sanitize, and prepare each cabin for all stays this summer, including yours.  Again, this is not required, but if you accommodate this request, we would like to extend a $100.00 voucher to a future stay in 2022.  Bill pay will be processed on Friday as usual, please stop by the lodge to complete payment or indicate during the week if you would like the card on file to be charged.  Check-out will be the same as years past – keys on the table, doors unlocked, and trash disposed in the dumpster onsite.

We encourage you to rebook before departure or confirm your standing reservation to ensure your preferences for your vacation next year.  Please make sure we have your most up-to-date email and phone number to guarantee your rebooking goes seamlessly.

  • The lodge convenience store will remain open for bait, firewood, sealed food, pop, and sundry purchases.  We ask that guests utilize the charge sheet feature and be billed at the end of the stay to limit contact.
  • At this time, we the hot tub is open 12pm to 9pm on a schedule/reservation system for family units (the adults only rule still applies).
  • The lodge communal area and arcade will be open with limited capacity.
  • Facemasks are still required in the lodge for individuals who are not fully vaccinated (store, communal area, and arcade) at all times.
  • The beach will remain open.  Beach chairs will remain available.
  • The water toys (kayaks, canoe, paddle boards, and paddle boats) will remain available
  • Playground equipment is open.
  • Our normal food & close proximity related activities will be cancelled until further notice - donuts & coffee, pontoon ride, hot dogs, nature hike, and ice cream.  We are looking at ways to provide a new scavenger hunt (done at your leisure and unscheduled) and bingo outdoors.  More to come on this topic.
  • All of our boats and pontoons will be sanitized after each guest’s use.
  • With all of these points it is still important to practice distancing.  Please remember to social distance when outside around the resort or when not with your immediate family.

Little Norway Resort will still offer many opportunities for your family to get outside, enjoy the lake, and escape from the stress of day-to-day life.  Opportunities for enjoyment include: fishing, boating, campfires, walking, biking, day trips to Itasca State Park, and enjoying the beach, among many more activities.  Please continue to stay safe, stay healthy and be kind to one another. Thank you from your Little Norway Resort family.

Your hosts,

Ben, Steph, & Henry
